Festival Media
Credentials
Media credentials for the 2024 National Black Book Festival are
available in advance to individuals employed by a publication or news
organization. Media guidelines are as follows:
NBBF Media
Credential Policy
Those requesting media credentials must be currently employed by a
publication or news organization. Each organization is limited to no
more than two (2) media representatives. Account representatives, sales
executives and authors do not meet the criteria for media registration.
There are a limited number of media credentials available, so media
representatives should submit their request for credentials as soon as
possible. You must fall under one of the following media guidelines to
receive media registration:
African American Media Outlets
Reporters and editors from local, regional and national African-American
media must provide a business card from the news organization. Media may
be print, electronic, television or radio.
Television and Radio
Broadcast reporters and producers from news organizations must provide a
official business card from the news organization.
Freelance Writers
Freelance writers must verify they have been retained to cover the
National Black Book Festival by presenting a letter of assignment.
Online Publications
Reporters from online publications must provide a business card and a
letter of assignment. The Web site must contain editorial content and
cover literary or African-American issues. Personal web pages and blogs
will not be accepted.
Advance Registration
The deadline for advance registration is one week prior to the Festival.
After this date, media representatives will need to register on-site at
the Festival press table.
On-Site Registration
All members of the media who have not registered in advance must
register at the Festival press table. The press table will be open
on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024
from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but check the Festival web site to
confirm dates and times. Please review the media qualifications to
